Journey Leaders:

Based in South Africa, Lisa has worked as a holistic therapist for over 19 years, has run her weekly meditation group for the past 8 years and teaches Reiki and Personal Empowerment workshops. Lisa’s work as a holistic healer has been strongly influenced by her aptitude for the Divine Feminine energies and she is the creator of the Focused Femininity Goddess workshops.

The Divine Feminine is the energy that holds, nurtures and contains. The Yin has the polarity of the Yang and neither can exist on this plane of duality without the other, although the proportionate quantities of each, are variable. Lisa has always been strongly drawn to working with and understanding the different female myths and archetypes. She uses movement, meditation, journaling and sound as instruments to assist us in accessing our inner feminine archetypes and integrating these beneficial aspects into our psyches and our lives. So it is with utter delight that she will facilitate some of these profound processes on sacred sites that hold the memories and myths of the divine sacred feminine energies.

Lisa works in a grounded, down to earth and practical manner. Her innate success with group facilitation lies in her ability to personalise workshops depending on the needs of each group, fusing an eclectic mix of techniques with movement and meditation around the central theme.

Lisa will be joined by Peta Panos, founder of Spiritual Quest Journeys. Peta’s personal quest has been to live joyously from the heart and has helped many people on their spiritual paths over many years. As a Reiki Master, spiritual counselor, clairsentient and conscious world traveler with a light fun loving approach, Peta effortlessly empowers and assists people to step into their Goddess energy and to open their hearts to conscious soul living and manifesting the life of their dreams.

Day 2 – Mon 7th Oct

After breakfast, attend an orientation meeting. This will include a guided meditation to connect to the powerful Goddess energies of the islands and a intention setting process. We are joined by our local expert guide for the day and travel to Mdina, in the centre of the island and considered to be one of the most beautiful examples of an inhabited medieval citadel in Europe. Explore the labyrinth of narrow winding pedestrian streets and get a feel for the island of Malta as you enjoy the panoramic views from the city ramparts.

Own arrangements for dinner. Overnight Victoria Hotel, Sliema.

Day 3 – Tues 8th Oct

Today, our local expert guide takes us on a short ferry ride to the neighbouring island of Gozo, often called Calypso’s Island after the nymph who kept Ulysses prisoner for seven years, and where we will do a ceremony to connect with the Goddess energies of the island using creative movement, sound and meditation.

This green and picturesque island has it´s own character and intense energy. We will visit Ggantija temples, renowned sacred site and the oldest freestanding structure in the world. This is a magnificent semi-ruined temple complex containing the largest stone on the islands and spirals. Ta’ Cenc is the largest area of undeveloped land on Gozo and offers breath taking views of the surrounding countryside and across to Malta.

The Citadel with its fortified walls, sits in the center of the island and commands stunning views over the whole of Gozo. Contained within its boundaries are palaces and a cathedral. Standing out dramatically from the flat surrounding landscape is Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary and finally the natural beauty of Dwejra Bay and the Azure Window complete this full day on Gozo.

Own arrangements for dinner. Overnight Victoria Hotel, Sliema.

Day 4 – Wed 9th Oct

After breakfast, enjoy a free day exploring the area, sunbathing, swimming or relaxing. If you are so inclined, why not join Lisa and Peta for an afternoon visit to the Three Cities (Cospicua, Vittoriosa & Senglea), the original settlements of the Knights Hospitallers and the least touristy cities on the island.

Own arrangements for dinner. Overnight Victoria Hotel, Sliema.

Day 5 – Thurs 10th Oct

Today we explore the capital city of Valletta at our leisure: Important places of interest and worth visiting include:

  • St. John’s Co-cathedral, the magnificent church, ancient mystery school of the Knights of Malta and home to Caravaggio´s famous painting.
  • Magnificent views of Grand Harbour from the elevated Barakka Gardens.
  • Archeology Museum, housing some of the statuettes and artifacts found at the temples.
  • Auberge de Castille, one of Valletta’s finest old buildings and now the official residence of the Prime Minister.
  • The Sacra Infermeria, the original hospital of the Knights.

This sixteenth century walled city is best explored on foot and many of its streets are narrow or pedestrian. Being a small city perched on the rocks above the harbor it is a joy to discover palaces, churches, piazzas and glorious views round the next corner. Lovers of architecture will be in heaven here.

Afternoon sightseeing boat trip around the Grand Harbor at Valletta. See the largest harbor in Europe from the best vantage point, on the water. This affords excellent views of the fortified cites of Valetta and the ‘Three Cites’ on either sides of the harbor.

Own arrangements for dinner. Overnight at Victoria Hotel, Sliema

Day 6 – Fri 11th Oct

After breakfast, our local expert guide starts our day tour with a visit to an active Christian church, Mosta Dome, the third largest unsupported dome or rotunda in Europe (after St. Peter’s in Rome and St. Paul’s in London). The pattern on the ceiling is influenced by sacred geometry and our guide will point out its many secrets.

We will also visit two of the oldest temples on the island – Ta’ Hagrat and Skorba, ideal for making a personal connection to the temples through meditation and allowing us to enter into a deeper understanding of the mythology of this sacred place.

After lunch, we visit the Hal Saflieni temples at Tarxien including the world-famous Hypogeum, an underground ritual chamber believed to represent the Goddess regenerative womb. The Tarxien temples, are the most complex of the temple sites in Malta and consist of four megalithic structures. The temples are renowned for the details of the carvings including spiral designs and other sacred geometry.

We complete the day in the picturesque fishing village of Marsaxlokk where you can enjoy enjoy an early dinner at one of the waterfront restaurants.

Overnight Victoria Hotel, Sliema.

Day 7 – Sat 12th Oct

This morning we take a ride in small boats from Wied iz-Zurrieq along the rocky southern coastline visiting the many flooded caves including the Blue Grotto cave. We have planned to be there at a time when the light penetrates furthest into the caves. Inside the rock is tinted pink, mauve or orange by coral and minerals and the water can change colour from indigo and navy to fluorescent azure and emerald according to the light.

Our local expert guide will then take us to Mnajdra and Hagar Qim (meaning standing stones), the most complete temples in Malta. These temple complexes are over five and a half thousand years old and offer spectacular views of the ocean and a huge ‘ringing stone’. Mnajdra is a complex site consisting of three temples overlooking an oval forecourt and is orientated to the spring equinox. At this sacred site Lisa will guide us in completing our spiritual journey in Malta.

Final afternoon free.
